Project Description

Play therapy is a therapeutic technique in which games, toys, sand and other mediums are used to assist individuals, especially children, to express their emotions, thought, wishes and needs.

Children have not learned the necessary skills to understand strong emotions, anxieties and traumatic events and by allowing them to play they can communicate these feelings.

During play therapy the therapist takes the process to a level that children know and feel comfortable with. Through play therapy children then receive a sense of containment and a way to work through the difficult themes and difficulties they are experiencing.
